Residential Wiring & Panel Upgrades in Chilliwack & the Fraser Valley

If your home still runs on a 60-amp fuse box, trips breakers for no reason, or just doesn't have enough circuits for the way you actually live, a panel upgrade or partial rewire is usually the fix. This is the most common job I do, and the one most homeowners put off longer than they should.

What's included

Here's what this job actually covers

  • Full panel replacement — 100A, 150A, or 200A service depending on your home's needs
  • Federal Pioneer stab-lok and other recalled-brand panel replacement
  • New circuits for kitchens, additions, workshops, and home offices
  • Knob-and-tube and aluminum branch wiring remediation
  • BC Hydro coordination when the service size itself is changing
  • Permit pulled and closed out directly — see how that works on the FSR page

Not sure if your panel needs an upgrade?

Tell Tim what you're seeing — tripping breakers, a fuse box, not enough outlets — and he'll give you a straight answer.

“I’m a Project Manager with a restoration company, and we recently required emergency electrical services for one of our projects in Chilliwack. I called Tim, and he showed up in no time, handled the issue professionally, and had the project completed and closed out the same day. I would definitely recommend him to homeowners or other Project Managers who need a reliable electrician in Chilliwack. Excellent response time and great service!”

Common questions

About panel upgrades

How long does a panel upgrade take?

Most residential panel upgrades take one working day, including the permit paperwork and the brief power shutdown while the new panel goes in. More involved jobs — like a full rewire alongside the panel — take longer, and I'll give you a real timeline after seeing the job.

Will I be without power during the upgrade?

Yes, for a window of a few hours while the old panel comes out and the new one is tied in and inspected. I'll tell you the expected window before I start so you can plan around it.

Do I need a permit for a panel upgrade?

Yes — panel upgrades require an electrical permit in BC. As an FSR-certified electrician, I pull the permit and sign off on the work myself in most cases, without waiting on a separate inspection visit.
